A bumper crowd of 23 teams created a sea of green to enjoy the Rotary Goondiwindi Brain Drain on Friday night, with a St Patricks Day theme.
The Best Dressed Teams prizes were proudly sponsored by The Royal Hotel, The Larder, and The QL , and these were awarded to teams ‘Who’s Your Paddy’, ‘Knick Knack Paddy Whack’ and ‘The Wee Little People’.
In a closely fought contest right throughout the night, the Rotary 100 team won the night with 79 points, donating their $300 prize money towards Rotary Overseas Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) The Rotary team featured Alicia Sloss, who was a member of the winning team of the very first Brain Drain, held last century !!!
Just one point behind with 78 in second place, the Paddy O’Furnitures donated their $200 prize to The Black Dog Institute (and were announced as having the best team name !)

Rotary President Lachie Brennan thanked all teams for their efforts in dressing up and supporting Rotary to continue to participate in projects that support our community, Australia, and around the world. ‘As we celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia, it is heart-warming to know that our local community appreciate what we do’ President Lachie said.
President Lachie also congratulated Quizmaster Lew Verney on leading the successful Brain Drain every year, making it a great community event. Lachie did express concern that Lew’s costume was an ‘Irish Colonel Sanders’.
Goondiwindi can look forward to another great Brain Drain in 2022.
