Despite the cold and blustery weather, the Goondiwindi & District Vehicle Restorers Association’s 2nd annual Show & Shine was a roaring success.
The Heritage Waterpark was the perfect venue for free activities for the kids, local Rotarians cooking a BBQ lunch and hot coffees from Shot 2 U Coffee Van. The trade stalls were also kept busy with the sale of car products and memorabilia.
GDVRA was overwhelmed by the response and support from the community. At our final count we had 105 vehicles entered into the show and 100’s more through the gate to view some of the most outstanding vehicles in the district and beyond. The Show & Shine attracted visitors from Warialda, Inverell, Moree, St George, Dalby and Brisbane.
We were lucky enough and very humbled to be able to have Charles & Kerrina Harley join us with their award winning 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. This car is one of the current Summernats Elite Top 10 and was certainly a big attraction for the day.
Judging is always a tough job and this year included 17 categories for trophies. European, American, military and machinery were contested well and Holden, Ford and the utes are always favourites with the crowd.
As a club we are humbled by the sponsorship and support we received from local business houses.
