Bernice, Jenepher, Jocelyn and Win A Celebration of Four Exceptional Local Artists showcasing a collection of 45 artworks that are on loan from family and friends of the artist. Goondiwindi Regional Civic Centre Art Space hosted over 110 people at the exhibition opening on Friday, 21 February, where many had a story to tell ……………..
‘It [the exhibition] was an idea that came together over a good red wine’ says Mike Rival, co-brainstormer/Kickstarter of the exhibition.
And out of it came an exhibition to honour a group of talented local artists who paved the way in the local scene, at the time of Gunya Crafts, Flying Art Schools, Aspects Art Show and whenever the spirit beckoned.
A somewhat arbitrary number of four artists stood out; anymore and the exhibition would lose its reason. We hope that the works chosen for the exhibition represent the various genres and evolution of the artists’ works and have no doubt that each and every piece has a deserved place in the Goondiwindi Art Space.
Based on the calibre of their works and the lasting impressions that these artists have set upon Goondiwindi; Bernice Dixon, Jocelyn Cameron, Jenepher Wilson and Winifred Ash are all well deserving of inclusion in this exhibition together.
This is an exhibition not to be missed.
Exhibition is on now unit the 5 April 2020
Goondiwindi Regional Civic Centre is open 7 days Monday – Friday 9am-5pm Saturday & Sunday 9am-1pm
