Winter racing continues at Gunsynd Park next Saturday July 20 when the Goondiwindi Race Club will stage the CARRINGTON COTTON BOGGABILLA CUP at Gunsynd Park. The Boggabilla Cup continues the Gunsynd Park Cup circuit following the Picnic & Inglewood Cups and leads into the Vern Kleinschmidt Goondiwindi Cup to be run on Saturday September 7. That Cup will form part of the now famous Gourmet in Gundy Weekend.
The recent Picnic circuit is now completed in northern NSW and the racing returns to the professional ranks this week at Mungindi. Recent showers have seen the track maintain a magnificent Winter growth and a great day’s racing can be expected.
Regular Race caller Greg Kachel is unavailable for this meeting with races in Inverell so renown Race Caller & Goondiwindi Travel Tour leader, Brett Moody will return to the caller’s rostrum and renew a few old acquittances. Gunsynd Park has never played any truer and the magnificent surrounds will have those that have not been to Gunsynd Park for a while in awe.
The Carrington Cotton Boggabilla Cup on July 20 will see a number of supporting business join with major sponsor, Carrington Cotton and once again will be the highlight in reinvigorating the old country Cups. Morella Ag, Goondiwindi Cotton, Lowes Petroleum, Aircair Aviation, Boggabilla Town & Country Club, Ambrose Haulage, Peco Trading, R D O Equipment and Mc Gregor Gourlay will all join forces with Carrington Cotton to present the Carrington Cotton Boggabilla Cup.

The club will present the usual race day facilities, however there will be no oncourse tote and while you can pay at the gate, patrons can also complete pre-paid bookings which are preferred at www.trybooking.com/ctgiu
Visitors wishing to stay are strongly encouraged to book accommodation as the town is extremely busy with visitors and tradies alike. The recent Picnic circuit has highlighted the popularity of Country Racing with big crowds in attendance, and this meeting will be no different.
The usual catering and bar facilities will be available along with a jumping castle for the kids. Strong bookies ring of eight bookmakers and the grounds have never been presented in better order.
