Winter racing continues at Gunsynd Park this Saturday, July 15, when the Goondiwindi Race Club will stage the CARRINGTON COTON BOGGABILLA CUP at Gunsynd Park. The Boggabilla Cup continues the Gunsynd Park Cup circuit following the Inglewood Cup and the Vern Kleinschmidt Goondiwindi Cup, to be run on Saturday, September 9. That Cup will form part of the Gourmet in Gundy Weekend.
The recent Picnic circuit is now completed in northern NSW, and the racing returns to the professional ranks this week. Recent showers have seen the track maintain a magnificent Winter growth and a great dayโs racing can be expected.
Regular Race callers Greg Kachel & Brett Moody are unavailable for this meeting, and renowned Race Caller Paul Doggsy Dolan will call his first race at Gunsynd Park. Paul is a very much travelled Race Caller, has called at 115 centres to date, and is looking forward to adding Goondiwindi to his list of venues. Paul will be in Goondiwindi on Friday for the weekend.
The Carrington Cotton Boggabilla Cup on July 15 will once again be the first leg of the Triple Crown of Border Cups to be held over meetings at St George and Talwood. Should the winner of the Boggbailla Cup go on and win both St George & Talwood Cups, the owners will take home a $10,000 cash bonus known as the Triple Crown Border Cups Series.
The club will present the usual race day facilities; however, there will be no on course tote and while you can pay at the gate, patrons can also complete pre-paid bookings which are preferred at www.trybooking.com/cjhrk
Visitors wishing to stay are strongly encouraged to book accommodation as the town is extremely busy with visitors and tradies alike.
The usual catering and bar facilities will be available, along with light entertainment and a jumping castle for the kids. Strong bookies ring of eight or nine bookmakers.
If you are looking for a special event like a birthday party or family re-union package and or extra on-course catering, you will need to contact Mary Jane Thompson on 0427 299080 or Cutter Hayes on 0428 987522 to arrange your needs.
See you all at Gunsynd Park Saturday for Racing at its Best in the West.
