Angela Edwards Art
ANGELA EDWARDS Artist Bio
Angela lives on a property with her husband near Yetman, NSW. Between running cattle and their camping business on the river, Angela can be found on her verandah studio covered in clay, surrounded by her dogs, cats and the occasional willy wagtail. Angela has always needed a creative outlet whether it was floral art, beading, photography, painting etc. Her love for clay was discovered approximately 10 years ago when she undertook her first clay sculpture school. Since then she has studied art at Tafe, attended many different types of clay workshops and McGregor schools to find her style.
Angela has exhibited in Goondiwindi, Texas, Inverell, Moree, Kimba, Taroom and her work can be found in local galleries and shops. Angela's style has a relaxed, rustic, organic feel, focusing on functional tableware, vases and bowls with an artistic twist. There is no better feeling to take a lump of clay and through many processes, turn it into something functional and beautiful. Opening a warm kiln to reveal a new batch of pieces is like Christmas morning everytime! Angela often works intuitively with the clay, not always having an outcome in mind but letting the clay piece just evolve to take it's form. Working with different clays and glazes ensures that every piece is unique in it's own way. Knowing that your pieces can be used in everyday life for function or art is very rewarding
