Over the last few weeks, eisteddfod entries have been received and processed and the program for the 2022 Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod has been printed. For $6.00 you may purchase your copy of the program from the Goondiwindi Regional Civic Centre 100 Marshall Street. If you live out of town, you may send a cheque for $8.00 or direct deposit, to the Secretary Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod PO Box 1018 Goondiwindi 4390 and a program will be posted to you.
This year’s eisteddfod promises to be another fulfilling and entertaining week of dance, singing, music and drama with performers travelling from Toowoomba, Warwick, Yelarbon, Ipswich, Gatton, Inglewood, Millmerran, St George, Moonie, Boomi, Croppa Creek, Bungunya, Talwood, Kioma and Kindon to join with performers from Goondiwindi.
Entry numbers are fewer than for past eisteddfodau but there will be an abundance of entertainment over the six days of the eisteddfod. The committee is thrilled that the eisteddfod is so well supported by so many people from outside Goondiwindi. A Wine and Cheese Presentation Event will replace the concert on Saturday 6th. This proved to be a very popular evening last year. It will be held in the River Room from 5.30pm. The Major Trophies will be presented, some invited performers will provide entertainment and the public is invited to attend.
The Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod will be held from Monday 1st August till Saturday 6th August. The morning sessions begin at 9am, the afternoon sessions begin at 1.30pm and the evening sessions begin at 7.00pm, finishing at 10pm. The only evening sessions are for dance on Thursday and Friday evenings. Light refreshments will be available at the canteen on some days of the eisteddfod.
There is still an urgent need for volunteers-timekeepers, backstage helpers and door openers-so, if you can help for an hour or two, your time would be greatly appreciated. Phone 0412510949 if you can help.
Season passes cost $30.00 for a family and $20.00 for an adult. Day passes are $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children 3 and over. A Session pass costs $3.00 for an adult, $2.00 for a senior and $1.00 for children 3 and over.
