Next Gardening Day is on Sunday 26th June at Ian and Louise McCue’s garden in Oakhole Road.
Ian and Louise are in the process of developing the garden surrounds into a native plant garden. They have removed hedges to plant native plants and have plans to extend native plantings throughout the property.
Ian commented that there were very few Blue Wrens in the garden when they purchased the property 3 years ago but now the wrens are everywhere. There is also a bower bird setting up home in one of the outer hedges. I’m sure you will enjoy this evolving native garden.
The present plan is for morning tea will be on the front verandah of the home and then we will move to the back of the home where there is both sun and shade depending on the weather.
Our Guest Speaker will be John Downes, from Roma who will talk about lawn care, demonstrate pruning roses, secateur care and selection and much more if we have time.
