Helen Viney – Paper Passions Exhibition

Using a scalpel and paper, Helen cuts intricate images of letters, birds, animals and people.

As a calligrapher of many years, Helen’s journey into paper cutting really began in 2017 after she cut out a fox by hand following a week-long workshop. The effect on her was amazing. She found it so therapeutic. She now cuts out silhouettes of animals, birds, fish and letters to name but a few. 

Last year she  attained an Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design to boost her knowledge and technical abilities.  However, her goal is to keep her paper cutting as a handmade Cottage Craft art rather than laser printed products. She is continually looking for exciting new ways to display her passion in every piece she cuts out and enjoys taking on new and exciting challenges.
