Goondiwindi PCYC was the place to be on Friday night as the QPS team secured a narrow 46-45 victory over GABA Gladiators in an overtime nailbiter. The annual charity game once again proved to be a major highlight of the Goondiwindi basketball calendar, drawing a large and vocal crowd to support the players.
Although GABA was the first to score, the lead changed hands many times throughout the game, showcasing the competitive spirit of both teams. Both GABA’s Kennon Kyle Precillas and QPS’s Scott Denault were instrumental in their teams’ success, ultimately being recognised as the game’s Most Valuable Players (MVPs).
GABA president Sam Cathcart would like to thank the crowd for turning up and supporting them.
โThe crowd was amazing and played a vital role in the electric atmosphere โ their cheers and encouragement really made the night. I would also like to thank The Goondiwindi Hawks Senior Mens for keep us hydrated, Elriโs Ice-cream for the delicious treats and to Tammy and her team at the PCYC for their ongoing support.โ
With each team now boasting a victory, the GABA vs QPS Charity Game has cemented its place as a staple event in our calendars. We eagerly await the rematch next year, anticipating another thrilling showdown.
