The Goondiwindi Golf and Cricket Gala Day was held at The Goondiwindi Golf and Country Club on Sunday. The event was part of The Regional Sports Event Fund announced in May this year.
It was a very successful event with coaches and event organisers thrilled with attendance numbers.
Total attendance was in the 800’s over the day with 130 children and 40 women participating in the golf and cricket clinics. A true showcase of what can be achieved through collaboration with peak sporting bodies, local businesses and volunteers.
Leading up to the festival, Golf Australia also held coaching clinics at The Goondiwindi State Primary School, and Inglewood State School.
Both Golf Australia and QLD Cricket were very impressed with our local sporting facilities, and the level of community involvement. They are going to continue to work with our local clubs and associations to help us provide access to quality sporting opportunities for Goondiwindi and surrounding residents.
We thank Goondiwindi Regional Council for supporting the concept, and to everyone who was involved in making it such a successful event.
