Goondiwindi Race Club Stages Another Cup
Winter racing returns to Gunsynd Park this Saturday June 3 when the Goondiwindi Race Club will stage the JEFF HANNAFORD INGLEWOOD CUP at Gunsynd Park. The Inglewood Cup follows on from the extremely successful Goondiwindi Picnics and Gunsynd reunion weekend and Goondiwindi Cup.
The club lost the meeting last year due to wet weather, and the Battle of the Bush was transferred to Toowoomba and the balance of the meeting was combined with the Boggabilla Cup. The Inglewood Cup will be the feature event while the Goondiwindi Hoteliers, Goondiwindi industrial sector, & rural providers support the program.
Covid 19 and wet tracks have certainly plagued the Goondiwindi Race Club in recent times, but the club is looking forward to a good winterโs day of racing, coinciding with the rich Brisbane Winter Carnival. The six-event program will begin at 1.30pm and patrons are encouraged to book online at Try booking.
Raceday at Gunsynd Park has become an ideal opportunity for special occasions, especially birthday parties. Patrons wishing to reserve particular areas and arrange catering can contact Mary Jane Thompson on 0427 299080.

The Inglewood Cup paves the way for the Boggabilla Cup on July 15 and will once again be the first leg of the Triple Crown of Border Cups to be held over meetings at St George and Talwood. Should the winner of the Boggbailla Cup go on and win both St George & Talwood Cups, the owners will take home a $10,000 cash bonus known as the Triple Crown Border Cups Series.
The club will present the usual race day facilities; however, there will be no on-course tote and while you can pay at the gate, patrons can also complete pre-paid bookings which are preferred at www.trybooking.com/cieir
Visitors wishing to stay are strongly encouraged to book accommodation, as the town is extremely busy with visitors.
The usual catering and bar facilities will be available, along with light entertainment and a jumping castle for the kidsโstrong bookies ring of eight or nine bookmakers.
See you all at Gunsynd Park Saturday for Racing at its Best in the West.
