We at the Goondiwindi and District Community Garden were excited to host our annual Homegrown Festival on the 16th of October which was a huge success and a brilliant day. Loads of community groups helped and had their own stalls and activities which they are happy to report was very worthwhile thanks to such a great turn out by the community. We had food and coffee and Gundy Lion’s Club ran the bar. The Rotary Bozo Bus was there and they let the kids ride for free but people still donated which is fabulous. Map rescue brought their Dog wash and were inundated with many local dogs to wash which aids in funding to help other animals have a better life. Music was played by Briella Craig, Molly and Luke Tanner and the Split Image Band. We were also lucky to have a wide range of diverse market stalls loaded with creative products mostly local people but there were some from Stanthorpe, Warwick and Moree.
We thank everyone involved including the members of the community that showed up and supported as much as they could manage. Our Festival is important to us because we get so many people enjoying the space and just relaxing and having a chat with others.
Stay tuned for next year’s dates and announcements both on Gundy Region and Facebook
