As an Assistant in Nursing, you’ll be at the heart of creating positive patient experiences. From helping people feel comfortable and supported to working alongside a caring healthcare team, you’ll make a real difference every day while contributing to safe, high-quality care across the service.

Every day, you’ll contribute by:

  • Helping patients feel comfortable, respected and supported throughout their healthcare journey.
  • Partnering with nurses and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centred care.
  • Identifying and communicating changes in patient wellbeing to support the best possible outcomes.
  • Creating a welcoming, safe and positive environment where patients can thrive.

Let’s talk about you!

You’re someone who genuinely loves helping people and brings warmth, positivity and professionalism to everything you do. You understand that great care is about more than clinical support. It’s about listening, encouraging and making people feel valued. You lead with compassion, act with integrity, treat everyone with dignity and bring the courage to step in when support is needed most. You’ll take pride in knowing your work helps people feel safe, cared for and connected during important moments in their lives.

Here’s what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assistant in Nursing) or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, team-focused healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care.
  • A caring, reliable and proactive approach with a commitment to safety and quality.

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in a hospital, aged care or community healthcare setting and/or additional training in patient care support.

Above all, you’ll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.

Every shift is an opportunity to brighten someone’s day and contribute to healthier, stronger communities.
