POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a Skilled Meat Worker at Macintyre Pty Ltd, you will be integral to the operations within our meat processing facility located in Inglewood, QLD. This role requires a combination of technical skill, precision, and physical stamina to handle various duties related to the processing and packaging of meat products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Efficiently perform slaughtering and butchering duties, adhering to prescribed standards of safety and quality.
  • Use tools and equipment (e.g., knives, saws, and other cutting instruments) to break down carcasses into smaller cuts that meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with health and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Inspect meat products for defects, diseases, or other abnormalities and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist in the packaging, weighing, and labeling of meat products in preparation for shipment and sales.
  • Monitor inventory supplies and report the need for replenishment.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to optimize production efficiency and quality of output.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and adhere to industry standards.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Australia citizens and permanent residents encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum AQF Certificate III in Meat Processing
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ demonstrated experience as a butcher or smallgoods producer.
  • Previous experience in meat processing or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use meat processing tools and machinery with skill and precision.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and safety regulations specific to meat processing.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
