The Technical Projects Officer, based in Chinchilla or Goondiwindi, is responsible for providing expert technical support in the delivery of planned corrective maintenance projects and the meter replacement and validation program in South region to ensure effective and efficient operation of assets and compliance of Sunwater’s metering assets with the required legislative standards.
Your primary responsibility will coordinating and/or supporting the delivery of bulk water, planned corrective maintenance projects and the regions meter replacement program. You will provide expert technical input, asset management advice and analysis support to the Operations and Maintenance teams. In addition, you will coordinate the implementation of programs to ensure water measurement compliance (e.g. site testing, data management), provide input into state wide measuring policy, implementation program and initiatives, and contribute to condition, risk, performance assessment and fault analysis.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Projects Officer with demonstrated high-level technical skills in civil, mechanical or electrical maintenance and/or construction, preferably with experience in the water industry. You will have demonstrated project management skills including the ability to effectively prioritise, plan, organise and project manage the delivery of a large works program, and to effectively manage resources to achieve work objectives within an allocated budget. Your high level written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare written technical reports, briefs, memos, presentations, and other communications in a clear and logical manner will ensure your success in this role. In addition, you will have:-
- Associate Diploma in relevant engineering discipline or demonstrated experience in a technical role
- Class ‘C’ driver’s licence
- Appropriate trade qualification or extensive demonstrated experience in a civil, mechanical or electrical field
- Project Management qualifications and related experience
- Demonstrated experience in site and/or construction supervision.
