The Chamber’s Goondiwindi Region Careers, Skills & Opportunities EXPO went ahead on Friday 21st October, even with the threat of storms and other event cancellations in the region.
In only the second year the EXPO has been held, it was supported by many wonderful businesses, organisations and training institutions with 34 exhibitors and four generous sponsors.
Nearly 400 visitors came through the doors to learn more about the many opportunities across our region. Students from GSHS, Inglewood, St Mary’s, Boggabilla and Border Rivers came along to explore the showcase of career opportunities.
The attendance was pleasing given the weather, postponement of other events and this being only the second year of the EXPO.
We have been collecting feedback and suggestions from businesses, organisations, schools and visitors, hoping to to build upon the success of this year and make the 2023 EXPO even bigger and better.
Thank you to the Rotary Club of Goondiwindi and the Junior Emus NZ Tour for providing the well-earned refreshments. Thank you also to the GRC for the grant towards the hire of the Cultural Centre.
