Bowen Lane came alive with colour and community spirit to celebrate the public art achievements of Lanescape at the fourth annual Festival this year. The theme was “Flourish” and a stroll through Bowen Lane at twilight on Friday was a vision of Flourish from beginning to end. The bright & colourful local artist designed screens & local artist hand painted Essential Energy poles lining Bowen Lane were launched in true Goondiwindi style.
From ice cream & fairy floss to “Flourish” cocktails, from balloon twisters to Walter Whip & the Flames, from buskers to Madame Monet & dancing to the beat of our DJ… everyone was entertained! Not to mention the bountiful array of delicious food, bars and the opportunity to treat yourself with a purchase or two from the select Artisan stalls showcasing their creative talents.
Lanescape Inc is a not for profit, community group of local volunteers with a vision to create an Arts Trail in Goondiwindi that will support tourism and increase the liveability of the Goondiwindi region. With the generous financial & in kind support of numerous contributors including the Goondiwindi Regional Council, Vern Kleinschmidt Goondiwindi & District Community Trust, multiple Sponsors & local business houses, the Lanescape committee is getting closer to realising its vison for our region.
