The Goondiwindi RSL Sub Branch Members have been very involved with the construction of a Memorial pathway within the Goondiwindi & District Community Gardens. They financed the whole project, which consisted of two sections, both having been constructed by Casey Tierney and his team.
The first section was completed in 2020 and the second section just completed this past week.
Upon the completion of the first section, the RSL Members planted bottlebrush trees donated by Bernie Paisler along the pathway. This was followed by an official Dedication Ceremony with Russel Billsborough placing a special plaque โIn Memory of the Fallenโ, at the start of the pathway.
The Goondiwindi & District Community Gardens are open at all times for visitors to view the Memorial pathway and it can also be seen at the โHome Grownโ Festival to be held on Sunday October 16th from 11am to 3pm.
Members of the Goondiwindi & District Community Gardens, are very appreciative of the commitment made by the Goondiwindi RSL Sub Branch to bring this whole pathway into fruition. They also want to thank Casey Tierney and his team for the amazing job they did โ a work of art and very fitting as an ongoing reminder to our community about the sacrifices made by all Australian Service Men and Service Women.
