With the assistance of QLD Government via the RADF and Community Funds grants, the Opera in the Gardens was again held at the Goondiwindi Botanical Gardens on Saturday night.
Louise Dorsman and her Team, as well as the local Encanto Choir and a Combined Student Choir, presented a highly entertaining event, professionally supported by locals Boris Billing (sound) and Lew Verney (lighting). The Opera team also performed some pieces in the Kaloma gardens for the residents, and held a workshop with students from local schools (forming the Combined Student Choir) on Friday afternoon where they learnt pieces that they performed on Saturday. The Opera In the Gardens Committee would like to thank the sponsors, patrons, local businesses, and the many volunteers, for their support of this event, staged not only for the enjoyment and benefit of the local community, but for the great charity the Queensland Cancer Council.
