The Queensland Ballet 2024 Regional Tour was showcased. The Councillors served hamburgers, snags, and cheese platters to support the cause. The performance took place on Wednesday, February 28th, at the Waggamba Community Cultural Centre. The proceeds supported the Imagination Library program. The Queensland Ballet performed four works, including excerpts from Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. Councillors ensured the program’s longevity and thanked partners for support. They aimed to encourage childhood literacy through the Imagination Library, which sends books monthly to children in the region until age five. The program’s cost per child was $9 monthly or $108 annually, tax-deductible.
Anyone can donate to sponsor a child through the Imagination Library, and interested residents are encouraged to contact Council for further information. Local hospitals will help new parents sign up for the program during postnatal care, or else parents can find the registration form online here: https://imaginationlibrary.com/au/affiliate/GOONDIWINDI
