The extensive talent of St Mary’s staff and students was on display at the biennial St Mary’s Parish School Starry Starry Night on Saturday night.
Over 450 students and family members turned out to celebrate their colleagues’ music and cultural prowess, and even to admire the talent of their Principal Mr Brett Pollard. (It was a bit like the moment when Susan Boyle first stood before the judges on Britain’s Got Talent…sort of.)
Thanks must go to all of the parents who pitched in and donated time and money to the food, bar and stalls; as well as the St Mary’s senior students and their teachers Sam Jessen, Benita Klowss and David Capra who bent over backwards to make sure the staging and sound was of a professional standard.
Thanks also to The Diamond Hunter, The Co-op, The Victoria Hotel and Coles for all of their generous support and donations, and of course to the hard-working Rotarians who expertly cooked for the masses – where would Goondiwindi be without them?
It was a wonderful fairylight lit night enjoyed by all who attended, and the funds raised will be go towards improvements for the school’s music and cultural department.
