Forget all about Barbie Land, because Talwood will be where all the pink’s at when the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s Suncorp Talwood Pink Ladies Day takes over the Talwood Recreation Grounds on Wednesday 23 August.
This year guests will be joined by passionate bush advocate, photographer and host of her new podcast Damsel in Success, Edwina Robertson for a day of inspiration, shopping, and friendship.
Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said Talwood Pink Ladies Day is a great opportunity for the local community to get together and raise much-needed funds for rural women’s health.
“This year will officially be our second year hosting this incredible event at Talwood and we’re super excited to transform the recreation grounds into a wonderland of markets, yummy food, drinks, and of course fundraising,” she said.
“And one lucky guest will also have the opportunity to walk away with a beautiful set of Baroque Pearl pieces valued at $7,450 thanks to our generous donors Hogans Family Jewellers.
“We’ve been incredibly humbled by the support that the local communities both near and far have shown us. We’ve partnered with the Toobeah Pub for our beverages, Country Catering by Stacy is preparing our lunch, Allen’s Pharmacy Goondiwindi is doing our first Mums and Bubs tent, and the list just goes on.
“Not to mention we will have some incredible pieces of art up for grabs in our Art Auction from some very talented local artists – we’ve already seen a sneak peek from Angela Hart and Angela Edwards.”
Mrs Kennedy said the Foundation is also excited to welcome Queensland’s Chief Entrepreneur Julia Spicer as the Master of Ceremonies.
“We’ve worked closely with Julia over many years to fundraise for services and equipment for our rural and regional communities, so it’s a real joy to have her join us as our MC at Talwood Pink Ladies Day,” she said.
“This year we’re hoping to raise as much funds as we can to assist the Goondiwindi Hospital update their birthing suites for expecting mothers.
“The Suncorp Talwood Pink Ladies Day is going to be a really fun day, so make sure you gather your friends, mum, sisters, aunties, and nanna to get behind this great fundraiser.”
Suncorp Talwood Pink Ladies Day is on Wednesday 23 August from 10am at the Talwood Recreation Grounds. Tickets are $85 per person and includes a catered lunch, drink on arrival, keynote speaker, live entertainment, and market stalls.
