Last week the Texas Regional Art Gallery (TRAG) celebrated the end of 2020 with the volunteer Christmas party and VIP prevue of the gallery’s inaugural Pop-Up.
The Texas Regional Art Gallery is extremely grateful to all the volunteers who have helped throughout the year. A band of 30 volunteers keep the gallery open five days a week, work behind the scenes to organise exhibitions, liaise with artists and agencies, network, promote and, hang and pack exhibitions. To all involved, we say ‘THANK YOU’.
Encouraging a ‘buy local’ mindset, TRAG is currently hosting a collection of art, craft and photography from within the local community in the lead up to Christmas. The Gallery has been overwhelmed with the variety of talent within the local community. On display for purchase are photographs, jewellery, drawings, prints, paintings, ceramics, quilts, needlework, mixed media and metalwork ranging from two dollars to five hundred dollars. The Pop-Up runs for two weeks, so if you are looking for Christmas gift ideas ‘pop in’ to TRAG.
The Gallery closes over the Christmas period and reopens in January 2021 with an exhibition entitled ‘Woodspring’, a collection of intuitive ceramic sculptures, pottery, painting and macramé crystal jewellery by Callie McClean.
