Oh what a night was Friday night! During the enchanting twilight hours of 5 and 9pm, Bowen Lane came alive again for the third annual Lanescape Festival. The Goondiwindi community came together to celebrate public art, culture and enjoy one another’s company in the presence of vibrant colour, fun, roaming entertainment, great food and plenty of cheer.
Lanescape is a not for profit, community group of local volunteers with a vision to create an Arts Trail in Goondiwindi that will support tourism and increase the liveability of the Goondiwindi region. The Festival is a celebration of the public art achieved each year and this year it was all about our fabulous Toilet Block (artist Tia Carrigan), our incredible Pump House (artist Sam Wilkinson and Zan Denruyter) and our Goondiwindi State High School students Paste Up in Bowen Lane (artist Sarah Sculey, Lara Furst and the students of GSHS).
The support of numerous local business houses, Goondiwindi Regional Council & the many friends of Lanescape brought this year’s festival to fruition in what has been a difficult time for our community. It was a huge success and we cannot wait to do it again. Thank you Lanescape Lovers!
