The Texas Show Society Committee would like to say a big thankyou to the Texas community for attending and supporting our successful Texas Show last weekend.  Many positive comments on how great and engaging our community showcase was.  Thank you for your entries into the wonderful pavilion display and participation in the horse events, campdraft, rodeo, dog competition, woodchop, Tough Texan Challenge, motorbike comp or even the ute competitions.  This Show is a credit to you all.

The 2022 show was officially opened by celebrity chef ‘Fast’ Ed Halmagyi from Better Homes and Gardens & NH Foods Ambassador. The Honourable Councillor Lawrence Springborg, AM presented Betty Cleave with a gift in recognition of years of service at the Treasure of Texas show society.

Our disappointing sideshow alley turnout has been a problem that a majority of smaller agricultural shows have experienced in recent years.  We had complained to our representative body, Queensland Ag Shows, on Friday when it was declared no rides were forthcoming and a representative was in attendance on Sunday to witness our predicament first hand. Feedback on the lack of sideshow entertainment has been requested by this person to present as proof in negotiations with the Showman’s Guild of Australia next month.  You can send emails to texasshowsociety@yahoo.com.au highlighting your thoughts on this matter and we will present them to support our case. We will be working hard to ensure we have some great rides onsite in 2023.
