What an incredible week!! Martin Heppell from The Resilience Project talks have been so much more than anyone could of expected! Together with Tie Up the Black Dog Committee we organised for Martin to do 7 talks in 3 days about ways to build resilience & be happier. Each talk had the audiences – entertained, engaged & inspired no matter what their age or gender! Over 3 days Martin spoke to all 4 Goondiwindi schools in different age groups. Because of his infectious, energeticnature the children immediately took to him & went home each day singing his praises! He spoke to 92 teachers Tuesday afternoon, 130 men Wednesday night (yes they did the hug) & 150 community members/parents Thursday night……. & the feedback has been incredible!! Over 300 adults attended though the week & he spoke to more than 1500 children & we are so proud!!! We want to say a huge thank you to all those who came along & supported us. Massive thanks to the schools for trusting us & allowing the talks to happen, The Royal Hotel for the men’s night & the Goondiwindi Regional Civic Centre staff for Thursday night. A huge thanks to Jodie Jeans for her gorgeous catering all week & for being so accommodating when the numbers jumped from 80 to 150 in one afternoon! For anyone who missed out on a Journal or getting the code for the app – please drop into the Care Goondiwindi offices & collect one (while stocks last)….. & don’t worry I’m already trying to think of ways to get him back here.
